We're a little late, but Makayla had her 15-month well-visit a couple of days ago. She weighed in at 22.5 pounds (40th percentile), and measured 30.5 inches (50th percentile). She is saying LOTS of words, and even starting to form two-word sentences. Joshua is having fun teaching her his favorite words - "yummy", "truck", "mine", "no"...you get the idea ; ) We did have an interesting turn of events while at the appointment. Makayla has always been very flexible...I'm talking Olympic-gymnast, super-yoga-crazy flexible. The doctor noticed this, and said how her hips were probably the most flexible hips she has ever seen. Coupled with the fact that Makayla has zero interest in walking, and basically whines every time she is on her feet, the doctor ordered hip x-rays to make sure her hip ligaments were stable and growing properly. So, after the appointment, I whisked her over to get x-rays. She did excellent, as I held her legs in place while the tech snapped a few pictures (especially after having to get shots only an hour before). We didn't have to wait long, and got the results a couple of hours later. Praise God, everything is normal, and as Andrew noted, we just have the burden of an Olympic gymnast on our hands ; ) I know I'm her mom, but she is definitely the cutest baby I have ever seen. I mean, the blonde hair and blue eyes are so perfect. And, the uni-dimple...ugh, she melts my heart!
Makayla loves to color with her brother!
