Insta-Update

We are waaaayyyyy overdue for an update. Rather than try to get it all out in writing, I'm going to attempt an Insta-update...aka: an update full of Instagram photos. For those unfamiliar with Instagram, it's basically an on-line photo-sharing site. I heard somebody say my generation's kids are going to have a photo album (or digital album) of little square photos. I laughed because there is a lot of truth to that!

New House

Well, it's not quite official yet, as we haven't closed on our new house, but we wanted to give you a little preview of the new place.  There is a new link on the right-hand side labeled "New House Pics" that should take you to an album.  Nothing too fancy yet since it's empty, but hopefully a few months from now we can post an update showing everything all moved in, painted, and it will look like a real home.

To update everyone, we had our general home inspection today and the inspector said it was a solid home. A few minor things we'll have to take care of once we move in (like pigeons!), but I suppose small things are to be expected on a foreclosed house that's been vacant for over two years.  Most importantly, the major systems are all working great, and we LOVE the house.  Our appraisal should occur this week, and that will basically be the last big hurdle before we can finalize everything sometime in mid-August (they can't settle a final closing date until after the underwriter reviews the appraisal later this week).

Garbage Truck Excitment

I've mentioned it before, but Friday is Joshua's favorite day of the week. Not a Friday goes by without him waking up in excitement because the garbage trucks are making the rounds. He literally has a panic attack if he thinks he has missed seeing them pass by the house. I finally got a good video of him running out the door to see his beloved truck. And, the driver never disappoints as he always gives Joshua a good honk before driving on...

Dinosaur Fun

Things have been crazy (with a capital "C") around here! Between selling our house, and trying to find a new one to live in, it seems like we've been going non-stop. Today, we caught a breather and I took the kiddos to the Natural History Museum with our friends, the Guerras. The boys had a blast looking at the dinosaurs and making dinosaur sounds at each other. Makayla also had a great time, and said, "Ooooohhhhh..." every time we turned the corner to a new exhibit. All in all, it was a great way to slow down for a bit, and it definitely tired the kids out for a good nap!

Look at that sign; isn't she a beauty?! We went into contract on Monday, and close mid-July. So, now the craziness just amplified as we search out a new home for our family. Please keep us in your prayers!
