24 Weeks
Today, marks 24 weeks in the pregnancy. Makayla is getting bigger, stronger, and moving a lot! Unlike her mama, she is a night owl, coming alive after 9:00pm. Her movements finally got strong enough to where Andrew could see and feel them. That is such a special moment to be able to share with him : ) My next doctor's appointment isn't until next week, so I don't have much else to report on. The 24 week baby bump picture is below, as well as the 24 week picture from Joshua's pregnancy if you're interested in seeing the differences (if there are any?). I also included the collage of pictures thus far, so that you can see the progress.
More teeth, and more cuteness
Joshua has two more teeth coming in, which makes for numbers 7 and 8. He now has four teeth on top, and four teeth on the bottom. With teething, comes the urge to chew on just about anything - especially Mom and Dad, which doesn't go over too well. If he's not chewing on something, he's trying to hide the fact that he's putting something other than food into his mouth. He still likes to search out Ally's dog hair (gross!), and within the past few weeks has tried to eat stickers and bark, which eventually has led to him throwing up all over himself (again...gross!). What a stinker! He's consistently pulling himself up to stand, but still doesn't like to be on his feet if we are holding him by the hands. Below, are a few recent photos. The last photo is a lot of what I get now because every time I try and take a picture, he reaches for the camera in awe...
I think this is Joshua's most favorite place to be...
I can't get over how cute he is. I know I'm partial, but come on...
Standing up in his crib with a look of mischief...
Curiosity killed the picture...

Back from the Bay Area
We're back from our trip to San Jose! We had a great time visiting Joshua's Grandma and Grandpa G., as well as his first meet-up with Great-Grandma Onnen.
We spent a day at San Francisco, which included clam chowder, Ghirardelli ice cream sundaes, watching the seals, and a Giants baseball game. It was a beautiful day, but our New Mexican bodies were not quite ready for the cold temps that greeted us
Joshua crashed while we were at Ghirardelli. Too bad for him because the ice cream sundae was awesome (even if it was freezing outside).
This picture is in honor of Pablo Sandoval, who plays for the San Francisco Giants. His nickname is "The Panda."
We also celebrated Joshua's first birthday while we were in San Jose. Joshua was lucky enough to have both sets of his grandparents, as well as his Great-Grandma Onnen, there to celebrate alongside him.
While the guys were golfing, the ladies decorated the birthday cakes. We made one for the adults, and a mini one for Joshua.
The birthday boy
Joshua was very focused when it came to eating his cake
Sugar coma...I think we had a little too much
Bath time!
Of course...new toys, and he only wants to play with the bag filler

It's a...
I am officially at the halfway mark of this pregnancy! One of the special parts of reaching 20 weeks, is the chance to look at baby through an ultrasound. With Joshua, our ultrasound was entirely done in 2D. This time, we had the ultrasound in 4D. While it's still a surreal experience to see your baby in 2D, it's even more fun seeing your baby in 4D! We got to see a more realistic picture of our baby, as well as see each movement that was made...pretty cool! It looks like we'll have another thumb-sucker, as Baby Dos couldn't get enough of that thumb. All of Dos' organs and bone structures looked great, and Dos weighed in at 10 ounces. Based on the measurements, it looks like we're sticking with the due date of January 18th. Here are some pictures from the ultrasound (you'll see the face on the right-side of the first two pictures):
Okay, so I guess we can stop referring to this little one as Baby Dos because we now know that we are having a................................GIRL!!! Come January 2012, Lord willing, we will welcome Makayla Joy Grundstrom to the household of crazy : ) I, honestly, had a feeling it was going to be a boy. Andrew, on the other hand, made it two-for-two in the baby predicting department. He's like the baby psychic or something. We are thrilled with this latest news, as are the grandparents.
